It is fairly common for young children to have some difficulty with the F sound. F typically develops for both boys and girls between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years of age. I often work with children on the F sound starting at 3 years old or sooner if the trouble is causing them to be harder to understand and especially if it is causing them frustration.

In my experience as a Speech-Language Therapist I have found that working on speech sounds, even individual sounds such as F can have a big impact on a child’s speech. Words become easier to understand, children become more confident and frustration is reduced for everyone.

Working on F sounds is often easy and straightforward and if the right steps are followed it is something that can be done at home in just a few minutes each day. This guide will help parents decide if they need to work on F sounds by completing a simple assessment and provides a step-by-step guide for working on F at home.

Included in the program are:

– Indirect Therapy Ideas
– How to Establish F

– 72 Printable Picture Cards for working on F in all word positions.

While all of the ideas and materials are based on my 26 years of experience working with children and families as a Speech-Language Pathologist, they just a guide. They cannot replace therapy with or an assessment by a Speech-Language Pathologist or any other professional.

Better Speech, Language and Social Communication is truly the best gift any parent can give their child.
