It is common for children to have difficulty with the S sound. S typically develops between 4 and 8 years of age for both boys and girls. Working on S sounds is often fairly easy and straightforward and if the right steps are followed it is something that can be done at home in just a few minutes each day.

I often work with children on S Lisps starting at 6 or 7 years of age or sooner if the trouble is causing them to be harder to understand and especially if it is causing them frustration.

Included in this program:
– Assessment guide to help parents decide if they need to work on S
– How to Establish S
– Indirect Therapy Ideas
– Direct Therapy Ideas
– Games suggestions
– 96 pictures for S at the Start, Ends and Middle of Words

While all of the ideas and materials are based on my 26 years of experience working with children and families as a Speech-Language Pathologist, they are just a guide. They cannot replace therapy with or an assessment by a Speech-Language Pathologist or any other professional.

Better Speech, Language and Social Communication is truly the best gift any parent can give their child.
